History
Our
first collie, a sable male dog, we bought in the autumn of 1990
from
the kennel Of The Scottish Heights.
Within
a year we acquired a second male, a tricolour male from the Karava
kennel in Great-Britain.

Having
two male dogs we very much wanted a bitch and after looking for a long
time we ended up
at the Roanburn kennel in Scotland.
In 1993 we bought there our tricolour bitch Detta
“Roanburn Hidden Images”.
Then we applied for our kennelname.

On
24 february 1994 we received the confirmation of the Dutch Kennelclub
that the name of St. Ninians had been approved of.
For
details we refer to Our
Dogs.

Origin
of the name St. Ninians
In
1988 we were on holiday in Scotland and we stayed
in conference
centre St. Ninians in Crieff.
Looking for a name for our kennel we saw on the map of Scotland
that St. Ninians
was also a town near Stirling.
However, when we think of the name of our kennel,
we first and
foremost think of our first joint holiday in Scotland.

Characteristics
We
try to breed a healthy collie with a good and free character and which
also in beauty lives up to the collie standard.
Most
of the litters raised have been combinations between a tricolour and a
blue merle.
So far, to our great joy, the blue merles have formed the majority.
